Wait, Are We Basically Living in WALL-E's World?

Behind the convenience of getting everything we want in one place, we're glued to our screens just like in the movie WALL-E. Here are some thoughts about our current lifestyle.

I've always thought 'Wow, convenience is amazing!' but then it hit me - doesn't our life look exactly like that movie WALL-E? 💡

In that movie, Earth is completely trashed and humans are all sitting on hover chairs staring at screens... Back then I thought 'Isn't that a bit exaggerated?' but now it feels like we're getting pretty close to that reality 😳

For example, we can order food, furniture, clothes, electronics all with one click on Amazon, and even get our movies and music from there. Plus they manage our cloud storage and doorbell cameras too...! We're practically living our entire lives without even getting up from our chairs ✨

When you think about it, Amazon might be like the giant corporation 'Buy n Large' from the movie? We're all becoming dependent on it, and before we know it, we're basically turning into those humans from WALL-E - sitting on hover chairs obsessed with our screens 🥺

This feels scarily accurate, but it also makes me wonder 'What do we actually want?'... 🌸

Behind the Overly Convenient Lifestyle

  • 'One-stop shopping' is super convenient, but doesn't it also limit our choices?
  • Screen dependency is spreading without us noticing, and we're spending less time being active outdoors?
  • Sometimes I wonder - are we putting off important issues like environmental problems for later? 💭

I also find myself relying too much on my phone and computer, but maybe it's important to pause sometimes and ask 'Is this really okay?' ✨

So while being grateful for daily conveniences, maybe it wouldn't hurt to occasionally look away from our screens and check out the real world? 💗

Even back when it was released, it was spot-on, directly criticizing our values and trends.

Now it feels like we're living in 'Idiocracy' and Amazon is basically the Costco of the future.

This is farming! Everyone grows different plants, like vegetables and pizza trees!

Too much garbage? There's still plenty of space in space! Amazon Prime ship, launching today!

I've always said that movie depicts the most realistic future, and it's not an exaggeration. Everyone wants that life - constantly connected to screens with food delivered to them.

I went to Disney World recently and it's already WALL-E's world. So many super obese people on motorized carts, even with tablets attached.

If there's anything to learn, it's that it's not too late yet. A world where we can get anything with our fingertips has really spoiled us.

Apparently they're trying to go to space... All hail Lord Bezos?

The talk about 'now you can buy food, furniture, clothes, electronics all from one company' - we should be able to change this. It's a problem when convenience leads to local communities being destroyed.

Low-wage jobs at big corporations only benefit billionaires. Let's stop buying from them and shop locally before it's too late.

If AI goes rogue, we'd probably wish we were living in WALL-E's world. Honestly that might be the best scenario for humanity.

🎵Buy n Large is your superstore, we've got all you need and so much more🎶

WALL-E's future wasn't just made up randomly. Humans have a habit of turning dystopia into blueprints for the future.

Ataror of Sadie

It's funny but only the lucky ones get to live in WALL-E's future. Those people are descendants of billionaires, while regular folks are suffering way worse.

Back in 2007 when WALL-E was released, Amazon was already challenging Walmart. BnL symbolized the future Amazon or Walmart.
