I was actually a bit surprised when I learned recently that the US economy is paying massive attention to AI (artificial intelligence) 😳
Apparently, the US is expecting so much from AI that they're basically saying, "The next phase of economic growth will be decided by AI!" ✨
Why AI?
While we might have a vague idea that "AI seems convenient," the US is thinking even further—they believe AI will become the driving force that changes the future of the economy 🤔
Specifically:
- Technology development and services using AI are rapidly increasing 💻
- It's leading to improved work efficiency and the creation of new businesses 🛠️
- Investors, companies, and the government are all pouring more and more money into AI-related fields 💰
It seems these movements are growing as a "new pillar" of the US economy 💭
How Amazing Is It?
For example, even in the US stock market, stocks of AI-related companies are getting attention, and investors are eagerly putting in funds 😮💨
Plus, the government is increasing budgets to support AI research and development—it really feels like the entire country is betting on AI ✨
Personally, I found it fresh and interesting that the direction of a country's economy could be so clearly defined 💡
But... There Are Some Worries Too, Right?
Of course, AI has incredible potential, but I'm also a little concerned about things like:
- The anxiety about jobs being taken over by AI
- The possibility that some people might not be able to keep up as technology advances too quickly
😵💫
Even so, it seems the US believes "the future is with AI" and is moving forward, prepared to take risks 💗
To Summarize...
- The US economy is currently centered around AI
- Both companies and the government have high expectations and are making big investments
- AI technology is considered to hold the key to future economic growth
- However, there are also challenges regarding changes in work styles and society
Somehow, even though AI topics can be a bit difficult, hearing about the economy in such relatable terms makes me feel like "we're building the future" and gets me excited 🥺✨
I think I want to learn more about AI properly too 🎀

With zero regulation, things are just getting worse and worse, and if it collapses someday, ordinary Americans will be in big trouble.

If you put all your eggs in one basket, of course it's going to fail!
ノーラン
Companies are using AI as an excuse to avoid responsibility, trying to wreck the economy while staying unscathed themselves.
ハンナ
All the funds are being sucked into AI, leaving everything else like scraps. Without AI, investors won't even look at you—this bubble should burst.

The US economy is too biased toward AI, with big tech taking up a third of the stock market.
クリス
During the dot-com era, you could make a website, get attention, and money would come in, but in the end, they couldn't generate profits and collapsed. Today's AI is following the same path.

For AI to be profitable, it has to take people's jobs, but then who's going to buy the services?

The rich just want to get richer and are trying to make everyone jobless.

I think this will end in revolution.

When you talk about the economy, it's like a handful of super-rich people are doing whatever they want with other people's money, and they don't care about the 99.9% anymore.

The US has become service-focused instead of manufacturing, but you can't become strong that way. Making things is important too.

If AI succeeds, everyone gets fired; if it fails, the economy collapses. Either way, it's bad!

Anyone else looking forward to another 'once-in-a-lifetime economic collapse'?

The decisions from Wall Street and tech companies are almost like they're made by ignorant people on drugs.

Even OpenAI admitted that it's mathematically impossible for LLMs to have zero misinformation, and they said we need to make them able to say 'I don't know.'

Big companies won't adopt AI that only gives answers equal to or worse than humans.
クリス
It's the same with self-driving cars—they have to be orders of magnitude better than humans to be trusted.
ハンナ
This is a double standard, but people in the tech industry just complain that general standards are too high.
リリー
It reflects GDP growth, but the question is how long this can last, and it doesn't benefit the country as a whole much.
