Recently, I heard about a boss who's too obsessed with ChatGPT, and it's making work really tough 🥺✨
You know, that boss doesn't understand programming or technical stuff at all, but for about a year now, they've been trusting ChatGPT completely, relying on AI for all important work decisions 💬💭
What's the problem?
- The boss takes ChatGPT's word as gospel and makes technically dangerous changes on their own
- Even when you point it out, they just say "but ChatGPT said so" which isn't really an explanation
- When you say "this feature can't be implemented," the boss checks with ChatGPT again and says "ChatGPT says this"... it's an endless loop 😵💫
This honestly takes so much energy, right? You explain but can't convince them, and the hardest part is they don't understand that AI can be wrong too 💡
How to Deal with Work Stress?
I sometimes think about this too.
"AI is convenient, but there are definitely situations where human judgment is necessary, right?" 🍓
In times like these...
- Stay calm and prepare specific explanations and evidence
- When the boss says "ChatGPT says so," try looking at "which part of ChatGPT's response is wrong and how" together
- If possible, bring in third-party or other technicians' opinions to strengthen your backing
- But honestly, if this back-and-forth continues forever, it can break your spirit, so taking breaks is important too 🌸
Summary
AI coming into work more and more is nice, but if you can't share the premise that "AI isn't always right," the workplace gets really exhausted 😳✨
If anyone's struggling with something similar, maybe try continuing the effort to help them understand little by little 💭👀
Still... I realized again that ChatGPT is convenient but handling it is difficult 💗
