Are Opinions Really Free? My Thoughts on Recent 'Freedom of Speech' Controversies

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of posts saying 'Freedom of speech is in danger!' - isn't it getting a bit too much? I decided to talk frankly about this nagging feeling.
Are Opinions Really Free? My Thoughts on Recent 'Freedom of Speech' Controversies

I've been kind of thinking this for a while, but haven't you noticed a huge increase in posts online lately saying "Freedom of speech is being suppressed!"? 💭

Especially the ones that go "This is censorship!" or "Our freedom of expression is being taken away!" Honestly, every time these topics come up, I feel a bit exhausted 🥺

Are "Opinions" Really Not Free?

When you think about it, we say "opinions are free," but actually we're all speaking within certain rules
For example, on social media, they prohibit content that clearly hurts someone or spreads fake news, and I think without that, no one could use these platforms comfortably.

So while I understand why people shout "It's censorship!", I feel like not everything falls into that category 💡

Why Do Conversations Get So Messy?

Looking at these recent controversies, I wonder if many people think "my opinion not being accepted = evil"?
It's natural for everyone to have different opinions, but accepting that is surprisingly difficult 🥲

Like, if I'm walking with a friend and we disagree, I can say "That might be possible too," but online it instantly turns into a battle.
I find this kind of disappointing 💭

So What Should We Do?

I think it's important to remember that "opinions are free, but others have freedom too"
You don't have to force your opinion through, and just listening to others' opinions can make your world a little wider 🎀

Also, I wish we could develop a habit of thinking a bit more calmly and less emotionally when posting online 👀

Basically, what I want to say is "I want opinions to be free, but freedom requires mutual respect" 💡
I hope this clears up some of that nagging, unsettled feeling 🥺✨

I'm in my late 20s but I hate those weird stereotype bots, they're so childish

I hate weird bots, but the foreign language versions seem to have even worse ones, like full-on explicit content from the start
