I kind of thought so, but there are actually quite a few technologies that might still be far in the future, right?💭
This time, I thought about "technologies that should theoretically be possible, but seem completely impossible right now"✨
1. Complete Teleportation🌀
We often see it in dramas and games, but instantly moving matter to another location.
Theoretically, there's a phenomenon called quantum teleportation, but transporting entire human-sized objects is still a distant dream.
If it were realized...
- Commuting time would be zero!
- You could go anywhere in the world instantly, making travel super convenient🌍
- But managing accident and safety risks would probably be incredibly difficult😳
2. Complete Integration of Brain and Computer🧠💻
Technology that can read all the information in your brain and interact with computers.
Theoretically, it might become possible with advances in neuroscience and AI, but our understanding is still too shallow and practical application is far away.
If this were possible...
- We could have a super convenient world where we can communicate without words✨
- If editing memories and emotions becomes possible, we might get confused by having too many life choices?🤔
- Privacy issues would probably be really serious...💦
3. Artificial Consciousness and Self-Aware Robots🤖
AI is amazing even now, but we still don't have robots that have consciousness to the point of feeling "I exist."
Theoretically, it might be possible if we completely understand how the brain works, but we're nowhere near that at this stage.
If it were possible...
- Robots could think and make decisions on their own, which might reduce human burden🌸
- But "robot rights" and "ethical issues" would probably become extremely complicated😵💫
4. Infinite Clean Energy🌞⚡
Fusion power and other future energy technologies have been researched for a long time, but it still seems like it will take a while to "safely generate nearly infinite energy stably."
If realized...
- Energy problems would be almost solved! We might get one step closer to solving world poverty issues✨
- Environmental impact would dramatically decrease, leading to a kinder future for Earth🌏
Looking at it this way, even though things seem theoretically possible, there are still so many "barriers beyond human imagination," right?🥺
But if we clear them one by one, there might be a future we can't even imagine waiting for us!? Thinking about that makes me feel excited✨
Behind all these technologies, there are responsibilities and challenges hidden, not just convenience, so I want to watch the future while being mindful of those aspects too💗

Everyone has enough food, water, housing, and opportunities - we just don't make it happen.

America needs a proper railway network and better healthcare.

If we had a nationwide autonomous driving system to avoid accidents and construction, traffic jams would decrease and we'd gain more free time during commutes, plus rural public transportation would change dramatically.

If we could build an 'orbital ring' with current technology, we could transport large amounts of materials to space cheaply, but it would require massive investment and international cooperation, with high terrorism risks.
キンバリー
If everyone could vote on policies in real-time and change or delegate based on mood, we'd see results immediately and politics might become more interesting.

Technically, it's possible to provide internet to everyone, but capitalism gets in the way.

Maybe we'll get nanobots like in the movies.

Thanks to machine learning, things that were previously impossible are becoming possible. Fusion power, medical nanobots, flying taxis, anti-gravity, quantum energy, and super-strong materials might be realized someday.

I want to buy cars without dealers, but in America there are too many tricks and loopholes that make it exhausting.

Dyson spheres and Alcubierre drives are theoretically interesting, but practically impossible dream stories.

O'Neill cylinders aren't that far-fetched, and humanity should be able to build them within 300 years.
ロバート
Healthcare is too slow to adopt new tests and technologies, with too much money flowing to old technology.

Terraforming Earth is happening accidentally, but it will still take time before we can do it properly.

If we could master von Neumann probes, we could use all the resources of the solar system, humanity could become a true space civilization, and if we could replicate or transfer consciousness, practical immortality wouldn't be just a dream.
