Why Google Search Feels Harder to Use Lately – Want to Take a Look?

For those who've been thinking 'Google feels harder to use recently...' – We'll gently explain why people are moving away, using actual search result examples.

I kind of felt it too, but haven't you noticed that when you search for things on Google lately, you often don't quite reach the information you're looking for?💭

I was also wondering "Why is that?" Then I saw a certain post on Reddit that made me understand a bit✨

Is This What Google Search Has Become?

That post featured a screenshot of the results when someone searched for "How to make an origami owl" on Google...

  • The top search results were full of completely unrelated product pages and ads🥺
  • Even when you click, instead of proper origami instruction pages, there are many weird blogs and summary sites💦
  • Some sites have outdated information or are hard to understand, making it difficult to quickly find what you really want to know😳

It kind of feels like Google's original role of "instantly finding what you want to know" is fading🌸

Why Does This Happen?

Apparently, a major reason is that Google is focusing too much on ads and SEO (Search Engine Optimization)💡

  • They display lots of ads to increase revenue through clicks
  • SEO-optimized sites tend to rank higher, but their content is often mediocre
  • As a result, the truly good information users want gets buried💭

I'd heard people say in casual conversation "Google was better in the old days," but I didn't realize this was the background🥺

So, How Should We Search Then?

Lately, I've been trying to use search engines other than Google👀

  • I'm experimenting with Bing and DuckDuckGo, which have fewer ads✨
  • I've also increased using YouTube video searches to watch actual procedures🍓
  • Alternatively, asking people directly on social media or looking for specialized forums might work too❣️

I kind of feel like we've entered an era where "searching" requires some ingenuity?💭

This was a little story about the behind-the-scenes of search that makes you want to talk about it while taking a walk✨

It's kind of disappointing, isn't it?🥺

If you use ChatGPT a lot, it sometimes makes things up.

Ataror of Kingston

グレース

That's a skill issue. Just search normally for 'NJ Governor Debate time'.

If you want to search using natural language anyway, just use AI mode and it will give you the answer, candidate information, and where to watch all at once.

Ataror of Robert

ロバート

You can do the same just by clicking AI mode next to 'All'.

Ataror of Nolan

ノーラン

This is what happens when you don't use dark mode.

Ataror of Leo

LOL AI mode is better though.

Ataror of Kimberly

Yeah, it's AI powered by Google.

Ataror of Sadie

Someone should tell Google 'nobody uses search anymore'.

Ataror of Luis

リリー

Google is a search engine, not a tool that gives direct answers. The comparison is flawed.

Ataror of Brooklynn

ハンナ

The search bar isn't meant for Q&A, so intentionally using natural language is counterproductive.

Ataror of Robert

ロバート

It doesn't take that long since clicking links doesn't take more than 8 seconds.

Ataror of Nolan

ノーラン

Typical ChatGPT user who doesn't know how to use Google search.

Ataror of Kingston

グレース

Just enter keywords, not full sentences.

Ataror of Christian

If you press AI mode, you should get the answer.

Sometimes the AI summary appears, sometimes it doesn't, reason unknown.

Ataror of Valentina

Do people actually search using questions like that?

I might be in the minority, but this is my favorite way.
