Is This What Google Search Has Become?
That post featured a screenshot of the results when someone searched for "How to make an origami owl" on Google...
- The top search results were full of completely unrelated product pages and ads🥺
- Even when you click, instead of proper origami instruction pages, there are many weird blogs and summary sites💦
- Some sites have outdated information or are hard to understand, making it difficult to quickly find what you really want to know😳
It kind of feels like Google's original role of "instantly finding what you want to know" is fading🌸
Why Does This Happen?
Apparently, a major reason is that Google is focusing too much on ads and SEO (Search Engine Optimization)💡
- They display lots of ads to increase revenue through clicks
- SEO-optimized sites tend to rank higher, but their content is often mediocre
- As a result, the truly good information users want gets buried💭
I'd heard people say in casual conversation "Google was better in the old days," but I didn't realize this was the background🥺
So, How Should We Search Then?
Lately, I've been trying to use search engines other than Google👀
- I'm experimenting with Bing and DuckDuckGo, which have fewer ads✨
- I've also increased using YouTube video searches to watch actual procedures🍓
- Alternatively, asking people directly on social media or looking for specialized forums might work too❣️
I kind of feel like we've entered an era where "searching" requires some ingenuity?💭

If you want to search using natural language anyway, just use AI mode and it will give you the answer, candidate information, and where to watch all at once.
